Adding real servers in multiple networks

I have two LM 2200 for HA. Is it possible to have the LM access multiple networks? I have two web servers on my DMZ and two DB servers on my internal LAN, and would like the LMs located in the DMZ to be able to balance both sets of servers. When i try to add a "real server" for my DB servers, it says that I cannot because it is not on the same network as the LoadMaster. This seems like an unreasonable restriction given that I am able to open the ports that I need to to allow the appropriate traffic.

Is there any other way to add Real Servers on different networks to be managed by the LoadMaster?

Exchange 2013 DAG / 2 CAS Server Multiple Logins

Hi!

we are using a 2-Node Exchange 2013 DAG in a seperate Network (2-arm configuration with LOADMASTER as gateway). Everytime we´re trying to login via OWA / ECP we are getting multiple loginprompts. The only workaround to get rid of this is to use the persistence option, which is not supported / required on Exchange 2013.

Automated backups other than FTP

I'd like to enable automated backups but we are moving away from FTP to a more secure setup like SFTP of SCP.  We are running 7.0 code.  Is there support for this or if not when will it be coming?

Which IP address used for email logging?

Hi all,

We would like to configure email logging on both of our Kemp VLM's.  We have read the following document and completed the fields however we would like to know which IP address is used to send the emails  The reason for this is that we have to add this IP to the trusted hosts list on our SMTP relay.

Is it the IP address that we use to access the Web GUI or is it the IP address listed under System Configuration -> Interfaces -> eth0 - Interface Address ?

RESTful API question - LISTVS not returning any results?

I'm using the RESTful API with good success, but for some reason I get no response when I call the "listvs" method. Is this a known issue? We were just upgraded to 7.0-10, and I don't recall if this command worked or even existed in our previous firmware.

Also, when using SubVSs (which are awesome btw!), what is the best way to get the SubVS index? Referencing this section in the API doc:
SubVSs 
The commands can be used on SubVSs also. However as SubVSs do not have IP addresses, the 
SubVS index must be used.

LM 2200 L4 capacity

Hi,

What is the LM 2200 L4 capacity in requests per second? How many simultaneous L4 sessions can it handle?

I have performed a local load test (from a single IP) and reached 5000 reqs / second with a 50 % CPU load at my LM2200. Is this an expected result?

Improved logging features

I would love to see improved logging features on the LoadMasters.


  • Ability to filter and sort events (i.e. see all events of yesterday with source ssomgr)
  • More descriptive error messages: The logs are not for devs or KEMP Support but for admins who try to solve an issue, humans should be able to read and understand the logs
  • Ability to enable verbose logging: What exactly happened *before* the RS was removed from the VS, what was the real server's response to the health check?
  • An url to direct to a specific webpage with more information about the event, for common errors or known issues.
  • Save a selection of the logfile

The main objective should be to make the logs more helpful and informative for the administrators.

Virtual Service IPv6 to IPv4 and IPv4 to IPv4

Hi,
to ease migration of IPv4 to IPv6 it would be good to be able to connect to a VS with IPv6 while the RS still have IPv4.

So it should be possible to support the following at the same time:

Client -> VS (IPv6) -> real server (IPv4)
Client -> VS (IPv4) -> real server (IPv4)

Please explain me about Geo LoadMaster functionality? eg. High Availability of Head Office and DR. If HO goes down how loadmaster redirects its traffic to DR. (In Microsoft Exchange environment)

LoadMaster for Azure and ADFS v3 problems

Hi,


I'm testing LoadMaster for Azure, version 7.0.10, and I have some problems in balancing ADFS v3. It seems that this version of ADFS requires the SNI TLS extensions passed in the SSL Client Hello packet, otherwise it just resets the HTTPS connection. If I configure LoadMaster with SSL offloading + reencrypt (I would like to use this configuration in order to apply some content rules), the load balancer connects to ADFS without passing the SNI extensions, so it does not work.


I've seen that version v7.0-12a introduces support for SNI. When will it be available in VM Depot for Azure ? Are there any other configurations or workarounds, meanwhile, able to keep SSL offloading while balancing ADFS v3?

Question on keeping users on a particular server

Here is the background.  Have a web facing application - basic apache deployment web server front end, reporting and database server back end.  We want to load balance the front end and reporting servers for obvious scaling and redundancy reasons.  We have a pair of LM-2600's and they work as planned.  We have run into an application limitation where we need to keep users of the system from particular firms on the same web and reports server as we cache activity locally on the web server.  More detail:

Because it's a web facing app we can not control the source IP's.

We control user access across the product by unique user name.

We can read the user name value from an HTTP Trace:

(browserver=IE&timeoffset=240&UserName=####+#######&Password=&ExtraAuthentication=) 

I was hoping to build a content rule base on username that would be able to direct the connection to a particular server and keep them there for 24 hours.  I appreciate this will be a management nightmare to keep that rule set up to date but we have some programmatic ways to handle that.  Any ideas or anyone solved this another way I'm missing?

load balance web services

Hi

We just bought and have configured the VLM 2000, i am looking to load balance

between to urls and distributes the load in a Least connections with sticky bit
not set. Also a check needs to be determined if a specific url returns
successfully, if the result fails then nor user requests are sent to that
server.

Please guide me how to do that.
